Backpacks & BBQ is an annual outreach event hosted by Middletown Nazarene Church that brings together our church, community, and local partners to support students and families preparing for the school year. We provide free backpacks, serve a full cookout-style meal, and offer a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for everyone in our community.

Each summer, hundreds of neighbors come together at our church for this day of joy and generosity. Children leave ready to start school with confidence and dignity — and families leave knowing they are seen, supported, and loved.

Our Impact

• Built partnerships with local schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations
• Provided a safe space for fun, food, and prayer for all ages
• Showed the love of Jesus to our community
